§ 70.99. PENALTY.

  • (A) Any provision of this chapter which describes an act or omission which constitutes a civil infraction under the terms of the Michigan Uniform Traffic Code adopted by reference in § 70.01 shall be processed as a civil infraction and any person found to have committed a civil infraction may be ordered to pay a civil fine of not more than $100 and costs.
    (B) Violation of any other provision of this chapter not constituting a civil infraction as herein provided shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $500 or imprisonment for not more than 90 days or by both such fine and imprisonment.
    (C) The provisions in §§ 70.10 and 70.11 have penalties provided by the Michigan Vehicle Code, which are adopted by reference, provided, however, that the city may not enforce any provision of the Michigan Vehicle Code for which the maximum period of imprisonment is greater than 93 days.
