§ 9.6. BOARD OF REVIEW.

  • (a) The Board of Review shall consist of three (3) residents, who are electors of the City, but not City officers or employees, appointed by the City Council. The Assessor shall serve as a nonvoting clerk to the Board of Review. The Board of Review shall be entitled to such remuneration as determined by the City Council in December prior to the first meeting of the Board of Review.
    (b) The term of office of the members of the Board of Review shall be three (3) years, except that a vacancy shall be filled for the unexpired portion of a term. As a term expires, the City Council shall make an appointment to the Board of Review at the first regular council meeting in December, except that the first Board under this Charter shall be appointed as follows:
    One Member to a one (1) year term;
    One Member to a two (2) year term;
    One Member to a three (3) year term.
    (c) A member of the Board of Review may be removed from office by an affirmative vote of five-sevenths (5/7) of the City Council for inefficiency, neglect of duty, misconduct or malfeasance in office.
    (d) An appointed member of the Board of Review shall not serve more than two (2) consecutive terms.
